"TVDS is great fun because you make lots of new friends and really improve your acting skills."
Aoife Kelly age 9 - (Production Class)
"From a parents perspective.....My children have been going to drama for several years now, taking part in drama club, musical theatre and a couple of summer schools. They have enjoyed all the activities. It has allowed them to maintain a confidence in themselves that you often see in younger children but can disappear as they grow older. My son's school teacher commented on how despite being quite shy he is very confident to stand in front of the class or even the whole school and perform. (He recently sang a solo in assembly)."
Trish, George's mum.
"Hi! I'm Michael and I'm 11yrs old. I have been going to Drama Club since I was 6. I go on a Saturday and I really love it, I have made some good friends and they love it too. My teacher is called Donna and she is really great (the best teacher I've ever had!) I have recommended it to some friends from school and they have joined and are really enjoying it."
Michael Selwood age 11 - (Drama Club)
"Mia loves Street Jazz Dancing because she can listen to all the latest music and learn the cool moves to go with them, she has met so many new friends and it has given her more confidence, especially by taking part in the summer production."
Mia Collins age 8 - (Street Jazz Dance and Musical Summer Course)
"I have not got enough good things to say about Thames Valley Drama School. It is the highlight of my daughter's week. Although none of her classmates attend the lesson it is a credit to the teacher that she goes regardless and loves every second of her time at the lesson. Her confidence has grown and grown through attending the lessons and the end of summer show brought tears to my eyes as I saw her dance with absolutely no fear. This is a child who just 2 years ago shook with fright on stage and had to be carried off stage in front of an audience of several hundred!!!"
Monica Evason. Mother of Isabella Evason age 10 - (Street Jazz Dance)
"The only part of my drama and dance classes I do not enjoy is when there are holiday's and I cannot go!"
Amanda Finburg age 11 (Production Class and Street Jazz Dance)
"I really love drama. I have been going to drama for 3 years. We do improvisations. I really like doing the short plays. Dance is great!"
Benjamin Godley age 9 - (Production Class and Street Jazz Dance)

Classes

What we have to offer...

First and foremost we are a drama school training our pupils to perform in stage plays as well as for the screen, dance shows and musical theatre. We are different from most other stage schools insofar as we give you the choice of being a drama, dance or musical pupil and we do not insist on three hours of stage school training. We have a number of classes available on a Saturday to suit everyone. All of our classes are split into age ranges: 6-8 years, 9-12 years and 13-16 years.

Drama Club

Drama club for 6-8 year olds is a great class to introduce the discipline of drama to the younger child. The class is fun and fast moving ranging from drama games, to character work, to improvisations, story telling and mime. Pupils grow in confidence as they experiment in the creative world of drama.

Drama Production Class and Youth Drama

For the older age groups 9-12 years and 13-16 years, these classes will enable pupils to experience live performance. Throughout the year, acting techniques, vocal training and physical theatre are taught to enhance the drama pupil's overall acting skills, and are integrated into the structure of the class to assist in the rehearsal of a workshop style performances and one major production each year. All genres are covered depending on the group's age and ability helping to keep their imagination stimulated and inspiring creativity.

Singing and Dancing...

Our singing and dancing classes may change with the season depending on who is teaching them and what their speciality is. The emphasis is on variety, giving pupils the opportunity to take part in something that they may not otherwise consider. As with all of our classes, enjoyment must come top of the list, but also placing attention on performance skills giving the pupil confidence to show off their talents.

Street Jazz Dancing

An extremely cool Street Jazz class with sequences taught to the latest chart music, but very much tailored to each age groups level and skill. There is even the opportunity to develop & choreograph your own routines! Energetic and funky!

Tailored for each age group, emphasis is on singing for musical theatre style performances encouraging anyone who wants to sing, act or dance, helping to build confidence and have fun all at the same time!

Dance Troupe

Enjoy the challenge of competition performance and local community events. This class enables the keen dancer to enhance their skills and take on new exciting challenges. It requires a high level of commitment.
